 SHOP MANAGER (FLEET AND YARD)

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time in Hardisty, AB  www.hardisty.ca

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: To be negotiated.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for a team of up to 6 workers. Monday to Friday and required to be on call every second weekend.

 

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

Schedule vehicles and equipment in to the shop for maintenance and ensure prompt service. Maintain accurate maintenance records -- light and heavy duty fleet trucks and trailers.

Assign work and direct activities of heavy-duty and automotive mechanics, shop laborers, yard personnel and washbay attendant.

Purchase and maintain documented inventory of materials, tools, parts, shop supplies.

Maintain documented inventory of metal/steel for welders.

Maintain driver logs as per federal regulations.

Maintain organization of yard including storage of heavy equipment.

Conduct and document daily tailgate meetings and monthly safety meetings. Ensure company safety procedures and policies are followed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12

General knowledge of automotive and heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

Good technical judgement and communication skills.

Above average interpersonal and diplomacy skills.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, email and Internet.

Previous management or supervisory skills are an asset.


  


   

 Site Superintendents, Project Managers, General Foremen

Terms of Employment: Seasonal, Full Time, Shifts 10/4

Start Date: ASAP

Location:  Project Site (s) - Hardisty, Edmonton, Central Alberta 

Salary or Contract: To be negotiated.

 

REQUIREMENTS:  Extensive experience in earthworks/civil construction, road building, excavations and backfill in industrial settingsExcellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills;  Proven leadership skills;  Strong time management skills;  Good typing skills and working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook; Own transportation;  Be able to travel to jobsite for duration of project;  Valid drivers license and current drivers abstract. Equipment operating experience, safety course tickets, and industrial references are assets.

    


  

EQUIPMENT OPERATORS

Terms of Employment: Seasonal, Full Time, Shifts 10/4

Start Date:  On-going

Location: Project site (s) - Central Alberta

Salary: To be negotiated.

Description: Must have experience and tickets. Perform all tasks assigned by the foreman or supervisor. Complete daily checklist and general maintenance. Provide a driver's abstract. Capable of working with limited supervision and able to exercise initiative and judgment. Must be punctual, dependable, and competent in one's job.

 


 

LABORERS

Terms of Employment: Seasonal, Full Time, Shifts 10/4

Start Date: On-going

Location:  Project Site (s) - Central Alberta

Salary: To be negotiated.

Description: Construction experience an asset. Must have safety tickets. Perform all tasks of general labor or equipment operation as assigned by supervisor. Perform physical labor. Help with maintenance and fueling of equipment. Provide drivers abstract. Comply with applicable safe work practices and procedures. Be punctual and dependable.
