Field Clerk

Terms of Employment:  Seasonal, Full Time, Shifts vary dependent on location.

Location:  Project sites(s) - Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba

Salary:  To be negotiated.

Requirements:  must have a minimum of 1 year field office experience, time management skills, intermediate level computer skills, proficient with MS Office, ability to prioritize tasks, fast paced, tight deadlines, work under minimal supervision, comply with applicable safe work practices and procedures.  Must be punctual, dependable, and competent in ones job.

Survey Crew Chief

Terms of Employment:  Seasonal, Full Time, Shifts vary dependent on location.

Location:  Project Site(s) - Hardisty, Edmonton, Central Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba

Salary or Contract:  To be negotiated. 

Requirements:  3-5 years experience in the construction or oilfield industry (specifically:  earthworks/civil construction, road building, excavations and backfill in industrial settings); Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills; Apply surveying software to generate digital survey data, prepare reports including grade sheets and quantity sheets; Compute survey calculations for horizontal and vertical alignments related to surface construction as well as facility installations; Plan and execute timely and accurate surveys on different types of projects.  Work outdoors in different types of weather and site conditions; Ability to thoroughly analyze complex data; Interpret technical designs and construction drawings, verify alignments and grades, identify errors and omissions; Utilize ASCM monuments, permanent markers and secondary survey control including temporary benchmarks for horizontal and vertical positioning; Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task; Provide supervison, guidance and mentoring to the Survey Assistant in the most positive manner assisting in assignments, calculations, procedures and equipment operation while promoting appropriate health and safety standards; Construction layout and slope staking for facility excavation and backfill, tank foundation construction, structural piling and access roads as well as other civil construction; Monitoring of ongoing construction operations including grade checks for trench bottoms, tank foundations, access roads as well as other civil construction; Conduct final as-built surveys on tank foundations, pipelines, roads and other facilities and provide reports using proper forms as directed by the Project Engineer or Supervisor; Assist the Project Engineer in developing as-built drawings for quality control and assurance turnover reports; Confirm locations of existing utilities using line locator devices; Assemble and archive survey data in proper and orderly fasion; Ability to work independently; Valid driver's license and current driver's abstract; Truck *Fully Rigged Up Truck* (fuel supply by Surveyor), Laptop, Survey Software, Internet, Cell phone, Total Station, Automatic Level, Prisms, Tribrachs and Poles, Pin finder, Pipe Locator, Legs, Tapes, Plumb Bobs, Chains, etc. GPS System including Data Collector and Software.

Civil Engineering Technologist

Terms of Employemnt:  Full Time

Location:  Red Deer, and/or Project site(s) - Hardisty, Edmonton, Central Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba

Salary or Contract:  To be negotiated

Education:  Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology Diploma, Bachelor's in Civil Engineering

Requirements:  Experience in the construction or oilfield industry (specifically:  earthworks/civil construction, road building, excavations and backfill in industrial settings); Area of specialization, construction estimating, quality control/assurance, construction scheduling and progress recording, field inspection/supervision; Specific skills, estimating & understanding of civil construction; Experience in tendering practices preferred; Excellent written, verbal skills; Highly developed ability to read and write complex documents; Ability to thoroughly analyze complex data; Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task; Ability to conduct research on and off line; Intermediate computer skills (Autocad, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Adobe, Outlook and Internet); Ability to work independently; Own transportation; Valid driver's license and current driver's abstract.

Journeyman Mechanic

Terms of Employment:  Full Time

Salary or Contract:  To Be Negotiated

Requirements:  Mechanic Trade Certification required.  3 - 5 years experience preferred in diesel/gas powered automobiles, heavy trucks, heavy construction equipment.  Diesel Engine experience in repairing/maintaining; fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems, lubrication systems, engine control systems, major internal engine repairs or overhaul, installment and alignment of engines and machinery.  Mechanical repair experience in; mechanical transmissions, drive trains and final drives, vehicle brake systems, wheel-mounted vehicles suspension and steering, highway vehicle tires and wheels, off road vehicle tires and wheels, Powered Equipment Repairs experience in; hydraulic-operated working attachments, compressors, electric generators.  Must be able to troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, determine extent of repair required, adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, test repaired equipment for proper performance, clean, lubricate and perform maintenance work, servicing attachments and working tools.  Own transportation (as some in town driving is required); Valid driver's license and current driver's abstract.

Requirements:  H2S enform, First Aid Level I Certification, Ground Disturbance Level II

Description:  Must have experience and tickets, provide a driver's abstract.  Perform all tasks assigned by the foreman or supervisor.  Complete daily checklist and general maintenance.  Capable of working with limited supervision and able to exercise initiative and judgement.  Comply with applicable safe work practices and procedures.  Must be punctual, dependable, and competent in one's job.

Site Superintendents, Project Managers, General Foremen

Terms of Employment:  Seasonal, Full Time, Shifts vary dependent on location.

Location:  Project Site(s) - Hardisty, Edmonton, Central Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba

Requirements:  H2S enform, First Aid Level I Certification, Ground Distrubance Level II, Confined Space Entry, and Leadership for Safety Excellence.  Extensive experience in earthworks/civil construction, road building, excavations and backfill in industrial settings; Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills; Proven leadership skills; Strong time management skills; Good typing skills and working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook; Own transportation; Be able to travel to jobsite for duration of project; Valid drivers license and current drivers abstract.  Equipment operating experience, safety course tickets, and industrial references are assets.

Description:  Construction experience an asset.  Must have safety tickets as noted above and provide a drivers abstract.  Perform all tasks of general labour or equipment operation as assigned by supervisor.  Perform physical labour.  Help with maintenance and fueling of equipment.  Comply with applicable safe work practices and procedures.  Be punctual and dependable.
